To empower and scale eCommerce businesses in Africa, SeerBit has announced a partnership with Wix, a leading global SaaS platform for creating, managing, and growing an online presence. Centric Gateway, a Pan-African tech solutions company that enables seamless and safe payments across East and West Africa, developed SeerBit.

SeerBit will act as a payment portal for Wix on the African continent, handling payments in local currencies and allowing African companies unrestricted access to create their own unique online presence. This integration will give the continent even more strength, as Sub-Saharan Africa is on track to become one of the world’s fastest-growing payment markets. With a population of 919 million people, online payment in East and West Africa is growing at a rate of 17 percent per year. Centric Gateway hopes to capture 60% of the online market in both regions with this integration to the Wix platform.

Since its inception in 2011, Centric Gateway has provided creative solutions to a diverse range of clients in a variety of industries. Centric Gateway, which focuses on the banking industry, was the first Fintech company to launch an Open Banking program for a major Nigerian Tier-1 bank, and it continues to serve many banks across Africa. Centric Gateway is now a leading player in the payments value chain, with its flagship product SeerBit building a financial ecosystem with omni-channel capabilities.

Speaking on the collaboration with Wix, Omoniyi Kolade, CEO, Centric Gateway stated, “In alignment with our vision of providing innovative technology solutions tailored to bridging payment gaps, this cooperation will boost the payment services industry and increase customer satisfaction in Africa. This collaboration also allows SeerBit to be a frontline player in driving the growth of the eCommerce and online space in Africa. We are happy to do this in collaboration with Wix.”

Omoniyi also emphasized how the two brands are working together to make history in Africa. He also stressed the company’s loyalty to its respected merchants, as well as the brand’s mantra of “Payments Simplified.” He encouraged new merchants to enter the Wix platform in order to expand their businesses online in light of the world’s rapid digitization, emphasizing that payments would be made in local currencies, avoiding the bottlenecks that come with paying in foreign currencies.

The collaboration between SeerBit and Wix exemplifies the companies’ ongoing efforts to ensure that Africans have the best online shopping experience possible, one that is tailored to each country as if the brand originated there.
