Kenya’s Covid19 Recoveries Rise By 412

According to Nation Africa, Kenya has documented an additional 123 cases of corona virus in the last 24 hours, taking the number of cases reported to 98,555.

According to the Ministry of Health, with a sample size of 4,948 positive cases, the number of total samples tested increased to 1,102,595.

Of the positive confirmed cases in the last 24 hours, 111 were Kenyans and 12 were international patients, 74 were male and 46 were female, and the youngest was one year old and the oldest was 85 years old.

Speaking from Kenyatta University Teaching, Research and Referral Hospital, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe on Wednesday said four deaths raising the total number of fatalities to 1,720.

In terms of recoveries, CS Kagwe reported that the number had increased by 412. Of the newly recovered patients, 378 had been under the home-based care programme while 34 were treated at various hospitals. The total number of recoveries in the country stand at 81,667.

The Health ministry further noted that 675 patients had been admitted while 1,945 were being treated at home.
On Wednesday, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, speaking from the Kenyatta University Teaching, Study and Referral Hospital, said four deaths increased the total number of fatalities to 1,720.

As regards the recovery, CS Kagwe announced that the number had risen by 412. 378 of the newly healed patients were in the home-based treatment network, while 34 were treated in different hospitals. In the country, the total number of recoveries stands at 81,667.

In addition, the Health Ministry noted that 675 patients were admitted and 1,945 were treated at home.

Twenty-six of the hospitalized patients were in intensive care units (ICU), with 17 patients receiving ventilatory support, eight patients receiving supplemental oxygen and one patient under observation.

There were another 14 patients on supplemental oxygen, 11 of whom were in the general wards.

In the high dependency unit, there are actually three patients.

Following Nyeri 9, Embu 8, Busia 7, Narok 6, Kajiado 5, Nakuru 4, Makueni 3, Mombasa 3, Nyamira 2, Kiambu 2, Kilifi 2, Machakos 2, Meru 1, Migori 1, Kitui 1, Murang’a 1, Garissa 1, Nandi 1, Siaya 1 and Uasin Gishu 1, Nairobi continues to lead with the number of positive cases per county with 62 cases.
